We are a Bunch of Burts.
An ordinary family living our first term overseas with a mission organization in Chiang Mai , Thailand.
Our blog is a place to share our adventures, discoveries, photos and things God is doing in us as we seek to serve Him and share the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.
Life overseas is a blessing, being allowed to participate with God in His work of reaching people who have never heard His name or know Him.
Life overseas is difficult, dealing with language and cultural barriers every day, and standing out as a foreigner in every situation.
Life overseas is a grand adventure, taking each day and trusting the LORD for His grace and strength as we learn language and develop relationships with people we meet.
Life overseas is no different than one’s home country, God asks the same of each of us. To love Him, trust Him, and look to Him each day, faithfully living out the Life of Christ to those around us.
I am fairly new to blogging, but please, browse around, and let me know what else you would like to see us talk about. Some topics are best ‘discussed’ in a private email rather than a public blog, but we are happy to answer nearly any question you have for us.

My dad was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam war. He loved it there. My husband and I are actually thinking of adopting a child from Thailand. I look forward to reading through your blog and seeing a bit of the country.

Thailand! Wow! What beautiful pictures.
I have 2 children adopted from Vietnam and we actually spent 2 (non-consecutive) nights in Bangkok (en route) in 2000. I would have loved the opportunity to see more of the country, as I hear it’s a pretty interesting place and the shopping is great!

I look forward to reading more about your experiences in Thailand. It must be quite a challenge learning the language. I had a brief trip to Bangkok 8 years ago and it was sooo very different from life in the UK or New Zealand.

Life might take my family and I overseas someday (I’m married to an Air Force man) but for now, we enjoy a quiet life in a small suburb of the Metro D.C. area. I enjoyed your blog and will check back again to read more about your work and adventures!

I look forward to reading more on your blog… it’s so exciting to be able to share in the joy as you ‘reach people for the Lord’ there in Thailand. I don’t ever see myself going overseas… but look forward to the relations we all build when we are together in heaven! Thank you for following Jesus and spreading the gospel as He calls us all to in His way for us.

I love that you have a blog and I wish I had been following it longer! I read all your updates and we think of you often. What an adventure God has you on! It helps us remember you because that “the big house Zachary lived in” is right close by… This winter Guy has walked there to sled several times with friends.
I have been keeping a blog for almost 2 years and I am going to link to you today…hope that is okay.
